Melbourne Storm’s NRL squad lead busy lives on and off-field.

This season, they have extra help to stay organised and save valuable time by using VLAST, a purpose-built and first-to-market platform that is managing and administrating the squad’s appearances schedule.

VLAST founders James Begley and Matthew Pavlich are former AFL footballers who had encountered the previous ways that player appearances and activities were managed – and set out to develop a way to centralise and automate the logistics involved.

James Begley, CEO and Co-Founder of Pickstar Group, which encompasses the VLAST product said, “We are thrilled to be making a positive impact to Melbourne Storm and its players with our VLAST tools and technology.”

“VLAST is transforming the talent activation eco system,” said Begs. In particular, the way sports organisations around the world deliver talent appearances and activations by streamlining and automating the previously challenging and time-consuming process,” added Begs.

Storm football operations manager Ryan Hoffman said VLAST had provided a much improved, streamlined process for staff and players to use.

“The calendars of our players can get quite complicated with training, matches and off-field commercial appearances, plus other commitments, but VLAST has certainly helped in the way we can manage their schedules,” he said.

“It’s easy to use and makes it much simpler for us to check on calendars, make bookings and track what is happening which each activity and appearance.

“The instances of human error and miscommunication have certainly been reduced.

“Overall, it’s definitely much more efficient than how we had previously operated, especially with communication between departments at the club.”

VLAST also gives Storm’s players the opportunity to manage their own off-field calendars.
