Our history
VLAST was born to increase the talent experience, reduce administrative costs, and reduce human error.
During their sporting careers, founders James Begley and Matthew Pavlich encountered the inefficient and ad hoc way that talent appearances were managed, even in professional environments. The systems clubs and leagues used were often too reliant on archaic spreadsheets and human input.
Understanding the problem, the pair began creating a technology that would help organizations and administrators centralize and automate the logistics associated with deploying talent into talent activations.

Founder & CEOFormer AFL footballer with St. Kilda and Adelaide, Begs moved in to leadership consulting advising high profile brands including CGU, Bendigo Bank. He built PickStar from the ground up, and now leads the PickStar & VLAST’s rapid local & international expansion.

Matthew Pavlich
Co-founder & DirectorAn all-time AFL great, media commentator, business director and MBA, Pav transitioned out of the AFL straight into business & media. He’s actively involved with PickStar & VLAST’s strategy and investment.

Head of Customer SuccessExperienced BDM & Customer Success Manager working with global sports rights holders in SaaS. Nick brings a wealth of knowledge and the ability to build strong lasting relationships with clients and is passionate about how technology can solve major pain points for brands, properties and agencies.
